Needlepoint Tapestry

Size 48cms x 48cms.

This design was influenced by a visit to the confetti fields in Worcestershire. I’ve always loved the fun of confetti, when the tension of the wedding service is over, the vows are made and it’s time to celebrate. With this design, there are 12 (I think!) shapes, each having its own colour. They are scattered over the entire square, keeping in mind and even distribution of colour and shape - not as easy as it seems. The black grid was then stitched and finally, the ecru background, which was an opportunity for my mind to wander off to thoughts of new designs!

Art work sold with no mount or frame, loosely attached to foam board for presenting and to be stored flat. There is about 10cms selvedge all the way round. A signed sheet with provenance also provided.

This design has been adapted for large smaller silk square scarves, in the original colours and a cooler variation.
