So, with the very strange and altered times we have been living through, comes new habits and new vocabulary! What’s “Top Dressing”? Read on……

You’re halfway through the day, and you’re still slouching around in your jogging (really?) pants, you’ve not brushed your hair (what would I know?) and you’ve never worn makeup for the last few months anyway. And a call comes through that you’re needed on a zoom call, in the next five minutes!

Panic! What to do? Only your nearest and dearest see you in this “unstructured “ state, and now (if ever) is not the right time to reveal yourself like this to the outside world!

Well, relax, your solution is here. Sit down, and atleast you don’t need to worry about the bottom half of your attire. Positioning the monitor will ensure the camera will only show the top half, so keep your slippers on, no worries in the shoe department at least! And here’s the next step…..

GRAB A SCARF! It’ll add that blast of colour, and make you look stylish, business like, and the fact that you’ve made such an effort to look good will certainly impress! The compliments will come rolling in, and you’ll feel so much more confident and comfortable, knowing you have actually made an effort. The distinctive addition of your colours will make you stand out, people will pay attention to you - you’re not just a blur on the screen! And this is what is called “Top Dressing”!

My video here, shows you how to tie a scarf in a most attractive and visually pleasing way, and you don’t have to worry about it slipping off while you’re talking - the knot won’t come undone!

And two final tips just for free!

  1. Next time, choose a different scarf, and the next time, and the next time…..you’ll find that your fellow zoomed will be watching out for you, paying attention to you and you’ll get noticed, rather that being a little face on the top right hand corner.

  2. In addition to the scarf, WEAR A SMILE! It’s compulsory and you’ll find the colour and luxury of my scarves will help you on your way!

Stay safe, keep well and until the next time……
